Options Counseling: Empower Your Future

“Can’t is not an option”
It was the fight of his life.
Perhaps it was his impairment by a muscle disease, or the subsequent tragic car accident that left him as a paraplegic; whatever it was, it kindled Carl’s will to fight.
Determined to live independently with a promising quality of life, Carl unpacked his virtual fighting gloves to prepare for the challenges ahead. “You have to fight for things even if you don’t think you’re going to get them. You still fight because you may find a way,” Carl urges.
Thank You for Being Amazing!
Thanks to you, in the last year we assisted 260 low-income older adults and people with disabilities to address a crisis or emergency circumstance that threatened either their health and/or living situation.
When many community members take action; there is power to incite change. With every dollar you gave, you made a person’s life healthier and safer, and you showed those most at risk of losing their ability to live in the community independently that they are supported.
Your donation provided assistance with such things as heating fuel, medications/medical supplies, stoves, refrigerators, and groceries.
One of the recipients of your donations stated: “This is the first time in my 60 years on earth I’ve needed help. OCES was like Angels from Heaven. There is no possible way I could have made it through the winter without OCES. Thank you so very, very much.”
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed, citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” – Margaret Mead

OCES will be participating in #GivingTuesday, a national day dedicated to giving and volunteering. This “opening day of the giving season”, is a day when charities, non-profits, friends, families, businesses and individuals will come together all across the country and rally for their favorite causes. This movement celebrates giving and encourages more, better and smarter giving and volunteering during the season.
We encourage you to participate – more information to come!
