OCES was delighted to sponsor the February 2018 MetroSouth Chamber of Commerce “Good Morning, MetroSouth” breakfast. The Metro South Chamber of Commerce is based in the City of Brockton. It supports and promotes the local business community through leadership in public advocacy, education, networking, information and community development. It serves over 1,000 members in eighteen communities in the region. Having been founded in 1913, it was one of the charter members of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
The breakfast was hosted by Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton, and close to 80 guests were greeted by Harry Bane, the President of the Center, who gave an overview of the hospital and its recent designation as the only Level III Trauma Center in Region V. The hospital is celebrating its 50th Anniversary in 2018.
Attendees listened to a very informative economic outlook presentation by Eastern Bank Wealth Management. Nicole Long, CEO of OCES, was interviewed by Richard Hooke of Crescent Credit Union and updated everyone on our “No Wrong Door” policy, “Music and More” program, and our efforts to make sure support services are in place for consumers when leaving a hospital. She highlighted our upcoming “Moving Heels for Meals on Wheels 5K fundraiser on April 29 in Kingston. Thanks to the generosity of Casa Vallarta Restaurant in Brockton, four lucky drawing winners went home with gift certificates to the restaurant’s new location on Oak Street.
Our thanks to everyone who attended, and to the staff of the Chamber for organizing a great event.
